Ebba Lange is a Stockholm-based creative director, photographer and videographer. Finding her inspiration from cinema and the people she is surrounded by, Ebba is constantly challenging herself to find new outlets for her creativity. As someone who is rarely fully satisfied with her work, Ebba firmly believes that art is to be found in the creative process, and not in the end result. Also, she swears by the idea that “there’s no such thing as perfection, only deadlines”.
From a young age, Ebba aspired to be a film director, inspired by the works of directors like Ingmar Bergman and Quentin Tarantino. Her early fascination with the world of cinema fueled her passion for the creative potential of a camera. This influence from the film world is evident in Ebba's work, which frequently features analog photography and a distinctive black-and-white editing style.
In her teens, Ebba’s admiration for music and artistry led her to start working with Swedish artists Cherrie and Broder John. Having been a dedicated fan of theirs, Ebba had a unique ability to understand their visions, and translate their music into visuals. Today, Ebba has worked with numerous artists such as Sabina Ddumba, Elyanna, Zikai, Fricky, Z.E, Nápoles, Cleo, Zara Larsson, LUCIIA and Janice. Her work includes shooting and directing visuals, as well as shooting covers and press photos.
During the pandemic, Ebba developed social anxiety which made her turn to photography as an outlet. Instead of feeling restricted by her awkwardness, Ebba used the camera to access environments she instinctively wanted to escape. Event photography became a way for Ebba to find her own place in Stockholm’s nightlife, as well as yet another outlet for her creative vision.
Throughout her career, Ebba has worked with well-known brands like Adidas, Puma and H&M, and her work has been featured in prestigious online magazines like Vogue Scandinavia, i-D, Dagens Nyheter and Elle Sweden.
Ebba has also carried out several projects of her own, such as her film tribute series, in which she applies her own creative vision to some truly legendary movies. In 2022, Ebba also launched her own deck of cards, in which 52 women were photographed to present one card each. The photos were all taken in Ebbas’ one-bedroom apartment, and the deck of cards can be found in several locations throughout Stockholm such as Fotografiska and Moderna Muséet.
